Sharing custom dashboards
This section details how to share a custom dashboard with other users by exporting it to a JSON file and importing it.
Custom dashboards are saved in the profile of the user who created them. To share a dashboard, export it as a JSON file, then send the file to the users who will import it.
How to export a custom dashboard
1. Log in to Horizon Registration Authority Interface.
2. Open the custom dashboard to share from the drawer.
3. Click on the download button, then select Export as JSON.
A horizon-dashboard-<name>.json file is downloaded. It contains the dashboard charts, but not the filters currently applied.
| Built-in dashboards can only be downloaded as PNG images. |
How to import a custom dashboard
1. Log in to Horizon Registration Authority Interface.
2. Click on Import dashboard in the drawer, below New dashboard.
3. Select the JSON file previously exported.
4. Review the dashboard name and description, which are prefilled from the file. The name must not match one of your existing dashboards.
5. Click on the save button.
The imported dashboard is saved in your profile and can then be modified independently of the original one.

Dashboards can only be imported on the Horizon instance they were exported from. The file is rejected if it is not valid JSON, does not follow the dashboard format, exceeds 1 MB or contains an unsupported chart type. |
